Dudley Mind Drama Group – A Merchant of Venice

The Dudley Mind Drama Group is performing in public for the first time ever.

This is a group of people who have been attending acting classes, once a week, for about a year now and are showcasing what they have learnt in a short public performance of an adaptation of the court scene from “A Merchant of Venice.”

Wednesday 19th July from 10.15 am at Quarry Bank Community centre.

There is no charge for entry and there will be refreshments. The idea is to give the actors the feel of performing in front of an audience for the first time.

The morning will consist of some acting exercises which we hope people will join in and give it a go – and the performance itself will start at 11.30am, lasting around thirty minutes.

This group has been meeting for a year now, and has been of tremendous help to the people who have been attending. From September the group will be re-launching on Thursday mornings in Brierley Hill, from 10am until 12.30pm and will be looking for new members, so anyone with a couple of hours to spare and an interest in live theatre would be very welcome. No previous acting experience is required, and the group will also be looking for set builders, costume makers, writers, make up and any others aspects that go into putting on a show.

The only things we ask are a good level of commitment and reliability.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn some new skills and make some new friends – and have a lot of fun doing it!

Come along on the 19th July and get an idea of what we do!
