Sadly, at the end of December 2018 our wellbeing cafe Food for Thought, in Victoria Street, Stourbridge, will be closing down. The building remains Dudley Mind’s property and it will be used as a meeting place for our peer support groups and other services and/or activities we run in the future.
Thank you to everyone who supported Food for Thought and for your custom during the time that it was open.
For more information, please refer to the press release bellow given by our Chair, Dave Tyler.
Food for Thoughts last opening as a cafe will be Saturday 22nd December 2018.
“Local Mental Health charity Dudley MIND have taken the tough decision to cease operating their ‘Food for Thought’ cafe in Stourbridge to safeguard their core service and service users.
The cafe has operated for a year, but the tough decision had to be made due to high operational costs, lack of footfall, location and cafe competition within Stourbridge town centre.
Chair of Trustees Cllr Dave Tyler said: “It became clear over time that we could not continue to operate the ‘Food for Thought’ cafe due to viability issues and we needed to act swiftly to safeguard our service users and the future income and expenditure of the charity. We remain committed to providing quality support to our current and future service users at this location, minus the cafe.
At the same time we would encourage anyone interested in supporting Dudley Mind as a member or fundraiser to contact our Chief Executive Sandra Vaughan on 01384 442938 or firstname.lastname@example.org.”
