Introduction to Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a type of meditation where people learn to focus attention so that they can stay more in the ‘here and now’.
This focussed attention encourages us to observe our thought patterns without criticism and to be kinder to ourselves.
During this short course we pay attention to the way things are right now by using our senses. We think about activities we can do more mindfully, such as walking or eating, rather than being on auto pilot. We learn about responding rather than reacting and how to do this with curiosity rather than judgment.
