Support on Christmas Day and the Holiday Period

Christmas time can be a lonely time for some people and it can also have an increased impact on their mental health. Our volunteer blogger Emma has recently written a blog on our website named Coping with Christmas, with useful information and tips on how to look after yourself over the Christmas period.

If you do feel like you are in need of extra support over Christmas, and need someone to talk to, there are several helplines (listed below) open over Christmas that you can call.

Places to go on Christmas Day

Listed below are details of free support being offered to anyone who may be alone and/or in need of support on Christmas Day.

Leslies Care Packages “Get Together Afternoon”

From 12pm onwards Christmas day, Leslies Care Packages will be holding a Get Together Afternoon as St Thomas’ Church Hall, Market Street, Stourbridge, DY8 1AQ.
Families and elderly are welcome as well as anyone feeling alone or isolated.
Although there won’t be roast dinners there will be sausage rolls, mince pies, soup and other types of snacks and nibbles. Limited transport available if needed, please call 07899291047 to arrange.

Life Central Church Lye

Life Central Church, Little Cornbow, Halesowen, B63 3AJ will be offering a free Christmas dinner to those in need on Christmas day.

You will need to register in advance on the church's website here

Amblecote Christian Centre

Amblecote Christian Centre, 102-104 Brettle Lane, Amblecote, Stourbridge, DY8 4BS are offering a free Christmas dinner on Christmas day.

You can register a place by calling the centre on 01384 370365.

Christ Church Lye

Christ Church, Lye High Street, DY9 8LF will also be providing a free Christmas meal for people in need from 12:30pm till around 3:30pm on Christmas day.
If you would like to go along please call 01384 423142 in advance to register a place.

Bakers Sandwich Bar Walsall

Bakers Sandwhich Bar, 34A Birmingham Road, Walsall, WS1 2LT will also be opening their doors on Christmas day to provide food and a place to go.

Christmas Soup Kitchen

Free Hot meals for homeless and low income families
Date is on Saturday 28 December 2019.

Support from Dudley Mind after Christmas Day

We will be oppening the doors at our hub on Friday 27th and Monday 30th of December 2:00pm - 6:00pm.

All are welcome to come along for cuppa, chat and a mince pie or two.
