#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
The coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown has impacted our ability to raise funds with many of the events we had planned being cancelled.
As a chart fundraising is essential to us and enables us to continue to provide the services that we run on a daily basis to help people across the Black Country area with their mental health.
During the coronavirus outbreak, our services have not been able to run as normal but we have been able to provide an increased level of support through our phoneline which are currently open from Mon - Fri 8am - 12am and Sat - Sun 10am 12am. We have also been able to provide online support for members of our peer support groups through Yammer. For the volunteers on our Gardening project at Wollescote Walled Gardens, we have been able to provide regular support over the phone as well as posting out things they can do at home whilst they are unable to attend the service.
We would like to ask for your support on #GivingTuesdayNow to help us to regain some of the funds we have missed out on during the coronavirus lockdown. Below are examples of ways you can help to raise funds for us. It doesn't matter how much you are able to donate, every penny counts. Whether it is £1, £10 or even £100, it can all help us make a big change to someone else's life with the support we are able to offer.
Whilst most of us have been on lockdown at home the money we would usually spend on our daily commute has been saved. Could you donate some of the money you have saved on your commute for #GivingTuesdayNow?
