Acts of kindness

Earlier today we talked about kindness and how it can have a positive impact on our mental health: https://dudleymind.org.uk/fullpost.php?id=210

During the coronavirus lockdown we have received many acts of kindness from people in the local community and have also seen acts of kindness towards others. We thought that today would be a good day to highlight some of these acts of kindness as part of mental health awareness week.

Apologies in advance for anyone missed in this article, we appreciate all of your help and the things that you have done for us and others during this time.

Our volunteers and partners

Firstly, we would like to give a massive thank you to all of our volunteers and charity partners during the coronavirus outbreak for all that you have done to help us support others in the community with their mental health.

JJX Logistics

JJX Logistics have been long time supports of Dudley Mind and are passionate as an organisation to promote mental health awareness. During the lockdown JJX have been working harder than normal to help provide PPI gear to the NHS. They have also been fundraising for Dudley Mind and have help to raise over £2000 for us during this time. John, JJX’s MD even shaved his head as part of a fundraiser for us!!

Ruth Hill

Ruth is no stranger to Kindness, back in 2018/2019 she started Ruth’s Big 50. Big 50 was a campaign run by Ruth to raise money for 11 different charities over the space of a year by doing various different fundraising event’s, such as a Santa themed run around Mary Steven’s park in Stourbridge, Skydiving, bike riding, singing and signing, learning to play the piano and visiting children in Nepal (just to name a few).

During the lockdown Ruth started a virtual world tour to help raise money for Dudley Mind, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Halas Homes and The Mary Stevens Hospice.

Erin Chalk

Erin is a local singer from BITA Musical Theatre who did an amazing performance for us live on Facebook to help raise fund and spread some much needed positive vibes with her soothing singing voice. You can watch her performance again below. You can also see more content from Erin on her youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwrI6IUslupBL_k7z_z_xug
