Youth Mental First Aid Online Course

We will be holding an online Youth Mental Health First Aid Course starting Monday 17th May, open to individuals and organisations on the following dates.

All dates below cover the whole course and you will need to attend all four. There are also activities you will need to complete online on your own between each of the four sessions.

Monday 17th May - 2:00pm – 4.15pm
Wednesday 19th May - 2:00pm – 4.15pm 
Monday 24th May - 2:00pm – 4.15pm 
Wednesday 26th May - 2:00pm – 4.15pm 

Price per person is £150 which includes manual, workbook and certificate.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Online 

This online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues 

  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

  • Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive

  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing ​


Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider

  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it

  • A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

Session 1

Live session (2 hour 35 minutes):

  • Introduction to the course

  • Outline of live session 1, the value of Youth Mental Health First Aid

  • Recap what mental health is

Session 2

Session 4

  • Applying MHFA to family and carers; the Recovery Tree
