Small rise in COVID cases in the Black Country

There has been a small increase this week in COVID-19 cases compared to the previous week in the Dudley Borough, 27.4 in the last 7 days in 100,000. Currently, the COVID-19 rate in the Dudley Borough is lower than other Black Country Boroughs, but there is a rise throughout the country.

The  COVID rate in Brierley Hill is currently 85.73 in 100,000. Whilst in Kingswinford South and Halesowen south there is a higher number of cases, people living in B62, B63, and DY8 have received letters to inform them of this.

In relation to vaccinations, 177,634 people have had the first dose. (71% were white), 86,788 have had the second dose (37% were white).

49% of Asian/Asian British have received their first dose and 17% have received their second dose.
42% of Black/Black British have received their first dose and 16% have received their second dose.

Although restrictions are easing, people still need to observe the use of masks, giving space, washing and sanitizing hands regularly, and having ventilation available. People are also advised to take regular free Lateral Flow tests whether they are experiencing symptoms or not.
