Each year, October 10th marks World Mental Health Day. World Mental Health day is an annual event for everyone across the world to come together and raise awareness of mental health, letting people know it is ok not to be ok and that there is help and support out there for you.
Each year, there is a theme to World Mental Health Day that focuses on one topic of mental health. This year's theme is suicide prevention, something that we at Dudley Mind are passionate about and do our best to help people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
As always, we will be doing a range of things throughout the week running up to World Mental Health Day .
Bellow is a list of things we will be doing during the week and on World Mental Health day itself
Monday 7th October - Sunday 13th October - We will be be at Marks and Spencer, Merry Hill all week where we will have a stall offering advice and information around mental health for anyone who may need it as well s bagpacking over the weekend. Come down and say hello!!
Monday 7th October - Sandra will be giving a talk about mental health to Marks & Spencer managers and staff
Wednesday 9th October - To mark World Mental Health day and to raise awareness of suicide prevention we will be holding a midnight walk
Thursday 10th October - Our CEO Sandra will be giving a talk to the Air Ambulance Service around mental helath as part of their wellbeing event
Thursday 10th October - Our CEO Sandra will be giving a talk for schools at St Mary's Teach Meet
Friday 11th October - We will be delivering a Mental Health Awareness session for Smethwick CAM & Foodbank
