Julia, Wilson & Mavis are walking the walk for Dudley Mind

Julia, Wilson and Mavis walk the walk for Dudley Mind

On Sunday the 6th of May, Julia and her two adorable Beagles (Wilson and Mavis) will be walking the walk for Dudley Mind during this years Dudley Trail, helping to raise much needed funds.

“Our little family are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We know just how important it is that everyone and anyone should have access to the best support, just when they need it, whether that be in times of crisis, recovery, ill health or life change. Mental health problems are indiscriminate and know no age or boundaries.”

Julia and her canine companions will be taking part in the 12 mile Dudley Trail which begins at Dudley Leisure Centre, heads west towards Gornal, turning north to Sedgley, then finally heading south back towards Dudley Lesiure Centre through Coseley and the Wrens Nest (see image below for the full route).

“For many, our local Minds have been a lifeline and one day could be ours. The reality is that despite the political talk of raised awareness and promises of greater investment, local council budgets have disappeared and support facilities withdrawn. Mental Health charities have had to change tack and react fast, relying more and more on public and service user good-will and fundraising.”
